A Thousand Words Festival Short Story
Competition 2011 – Guidelines
Students in years 7-12 are invited to submit entries to the 2011 ATW short story competition.
The competition is now open for submissions and will close on the 18th of September at 5pm. Shortlisted writers will be notified via email and will receive free entry to A Thousand Words Festival on Saturday 24th of September. The winner will be announced at the festival gala that evening, and their story will appear online and in Viewpoint: On Books for Young Adults.
Stories can be on any topic however must be exactly 1000 words. Entries not meeting this word limit will not qualify for judging.
The winner will be chosen by festival director and YA specialist Bec Kavanagh and announced by Tim Pegler at the 2011 A Thousand Words festival gala.
Please submit entries in a word document via email by 5pm September 18th to bec@athousandwordsfestival.com.au
